For the people
who win the work.
Every project that gets built was won first. Before the drawings, the permits, and the first pour, somebody read a capital plan, earned an owner's trust, put a team together, and made the shortlist.
The Pursuit is BD-AEC's publication about that side of the industry. We cover the markets, the procurement rules, and the practical strategy behind winning work, for principals and business development leaders at architecture, engineering, and construction firms.
From the headline to the pursuit.
News explains what changed and what's confirmed, and a news brief does it in a few minutes: who it affects and whether your firm needs to act. Market intelligence reads spending, capital programs, and procurement data for what they mean for a pipeline. Strategy is the practical side of winning and growing. Analysis makes a case and shows its reasoning.
Written from the work.
BD-AEC provides an embedded business development department for AEC firms. We run pursuits for AEC firms every week, and that's the perspective behind The Pursuit. When a story touches our own services, we'll say so. Pieces drawn from pursuits we're running carry the Field Notes label: what we went after, what happened, what surprised us, and what you can take from it. We never name a client without their permission.
Show the evidence.
We link to primary sources: statutes, agency documents, capital plans, and the data itself. We separate what's confirmed from what we think it means, and we date what we report. Procurement rules vary by state and agency, so we say where a rule applies and where it doesn't.
Good work gets better.
